Baroque to Bluegrass: Violin/fiddle master class
Masterclass is led by Dr. Cvetozar Vutev, Doctor of Musicology and Musical Arts, Concertmaster of both the Kamloops Symphony and the Symphony of the Kootenays, music professor at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC, violin and viola instructor with the Kamloops Symphony Music School.
The master class will provide an opportunity for participants all ages with at least three years of experience on the violin or the fiddle to learn the basics of the Baroque music style and to compare it with the Country Fiddle performing tradition across Europe and North America, leading into the modern Bluegrass style. After 30 min introductory group lesson for all of the participants every active participant will have 30 min individual violin/fiddle lesson in front of the whole class, followed by a group performance at the end of the session.
Fees: $ 30 for active participants, $ 10 for listeners.
