Formed in 2015, Solara Brass Quintet has been performing together in and around the Thompson Okanagan. From parks and beaches to concert halls this eclectic ensemble entertains audiences young and old. Solara Brass Quintet has strong ties with the Kamloops music community, performing regularly with other community groups, school groups, and is a part of the Kamloops Chamber Music Society. Performing original compositions, orchestral transcriptions, show tunes and everything in-between, Solara’s unique sound appeals to all music lovers.
Solara Brass are long-time friends – some have known each other longer and friendlier. Rob and Cindy are the friendliest having been married since 1991. Rob, Cindy and Jacquie first started playing together in the Kamloops Symphony 25 years ago, and ten years ago these three formed a brass trio. Jaymi and Richard have been pals since university. They were the ones who had the brilliant idea of forming a quintet.
